Broadrake Bunkbarn - Week 14 26th-30th Jan Days 63-67

The start of the week was wet with the threat of strong gales and very heavy rain after Tuesday, but the builders moved on to start removing the remaining tiles from the barn...

The telehandler used again as a bucket for the old tiles...

...but the old roof felt and old battens remained in place this week in view of the forecast.
This is the tricky part where the new roof has to fit with the old house roof which is in very poor condition so repairs to house roof are planned.

The main roof made good progress, despite the wind - waiting for the last part to be cleared

By mid-week the really foul weather had returned with a vengeance so Wednesday was a very short day with safe removal of building materials into the barn to keep them dry and to stop them freezing hard, before the builders left site. No photos.

Snow fell on Weds pm but builders returned to work in freezing temperatures but with glorious sunshine on Thursday and Friday.

The insulated metal roof panels arrived for the wash room....

Telehandler is used to off load them from the lorry

not entirely sure that the driver could see where he was going....

Now stored in the big barn alongside vintage MF and vintage ambulance - new with the old

Preparing the rear roof with battening out for the roof lights above each forking hole.

Bitingly cold weather continued over the weekend with gales and sub-zero temperatures in severe wind chill but roof membrane stayed in place
