Broadrake Bunkbarn - Weeks 80-82 ish - May 3rd-17th 2016

Whilst I was away, Dusty came up to help Mike with the fencing on the hill, and they also lowered the single bed beneath the cabin bed.
So this room, with a bunk bed as well,  now has all heights of beds...choices!!
It means that this room keeps the great view without a 2nd bunk in the way.

Lots of little jobs progress.....Weather bar on main front door

WI FI goes in - 20Mb - at last I can check emails and call from the barn...

I fitted the intumescent strips to the fire doors - a fiddly process

 handles go on...
also upstairs, now all top coated....thank goodness...so much woodwork, lots of paint layers....

Mike builds IKEA shelving unit....not sure just how useful these will be, but they fit here!

he also gets a chance to build the 2nd extendable dining table....
so there are options to seat 6 - 10, possibly 12 on each table
another panel can be added to make it even longer!

At last the door seal goes onto the front door after it's 2nd top coat...

the laundry company left us a floor mat to trial - they get them cleaned every 4 weeks....just need another one twice as big for inside the big door to go over the cobbles...
and the last tiles go over the other basins...

a few duvets are bought for the 2 bedded rooms as a start...laundry contract now set up with Cragdale Laundry in Settle, who will supply 2 sets of bedding linen.

movable rails save fixing anything to anywhere to preserve the sealed walls & floors

a quick shopping trip for some essentials in the kitchen....

and the latest acquisition - these do have to be fixed onto the walls...

barriers back - the lambs increased, but they didn't pay too much attention to the buildings
it was more fun on the high heap of soil....

Broadrake Bunkbarn - Weeks 76-79 April 11th - May 2nd 2016

Time for some upstairs pics since it's pretty much complete up here now apart from last top coats on the doors in the corner which are hidden from view....

and Mike managed to take a pic in the short time we had without sheep so no barriers

before the lovely lambs came back - wibbley wobbley new Swaledales....very cute...apologies for the poor quality - from mobile

After all the endless layers of paint on the wash room doors - I turned to the tiling.....starting with the easy bits first....

Dusty lent me his tile cutter for the fiddley bits required between the door frames...it worked!!
Thank goodness there were only 2 to cut like this

....and one sore cut grouting finger later - the finished effect!

and after all that white and grey, a shot of Ingleborough in the warm evening sunshine
A short break for me with the Ingleton Twinning group until 11th May - meanwhile Mike went cycling for one day and wore his knees out, then came back to deal with fencing the water tanks on hill....but no pics I'm afraid.

Broadrake Bunkbarn - Weeks 74 & 75 April 1st to April 10th 2016

Many apologies for the lack of blog over the past weeks; we are now very nearly there ....so this week goes back to April....where did that month go to?

At the beginning of April we welcomed the joiners back for finishing off doors in the washroom
the architraving gets underway...

finished job...lots of painting to follow....

the last door goes on in the washroom...the first one supplied was damaged so we had to wait
and  handles go onto all the bedroom doors....
self-closers go onto the 2 corridor fire doors...
the 2nd kitchen cupboard goes up....
and they fit in well on both side walls without being too obtrusive

Ted finishes off the doors to hide the electricity boards in the drying room
whilst Steve builds a cupboard around the downstairs heating manifold pipework....very neat jobs using up some of the spare flooring boards
